He was beatified by John Paul II on 3 September 2000.
His liturgical feast was set for October 11 the day of the opening of the Second Vatican Council following the miraculous healing of Sister Caterina Capitani of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul while she was admitted to the hospital of the Marina of Naples.
The cause of beatification was introduced by Paul VI in 1965 after the closure of the Second Vatican Council.
