

On June 3, 2001 Pentecost Sunday and the thirty-eighth anniversary of his death, after the reconnaissance of his body still found intact, his body is transferred from the Vatican grottos to the Basilica of St. Peter at the altar of St. Jerome. In fact his first assignment after being ordained a priest was a teacher of Patrology and St. Jerome was a great father of the church who translated the Bible from Hebrew into Latin. His Holiness Pope John Paul II in the homily of Pentecost Mass rec alled Blessed Pope John XXIII with moving words. Now the blessed John XXIII rests in the altar of this noble father of the Church who preceded him on the sanctity path.
